A DAY IN LIVERPOOL

Whilst I sit here waiting for my laundry to be done, I'm supposed to be doing my readings and getting a start on my mammoth to-do list. But alas, I am here, yet again, procrastinating to no end. I'll probably regret this. I never learn.

Anyhoo, a couple of weekends ago Keele Encounter organised a trip up to Liverpool. The trip itself took about 1 1/2 to 2 hours and we were free to roam around the city for a while. Home to The Beatles, the development of urbanisation and expansion of the city was largely due to the industrial revolution, as it proved to be an extremely convenient and accessible location for ships to dock (thank u Wikipedia).
We visited the Museum of Liverpool (we got there just in time for a group of little humans to orchestrate their musical talents by performing some Irish tunes for the public - so adorable), the Titanic memorial site, Albert Dock and strolled through the city. We wanted to go to the Abbey however, it closed just as we were about to walk through the front doors. The lady who shoo-ed us away suggested we walk around to the side, where we could climb to the top of the Abbey. Thinking it was free, we thought why not? But then quickly realised it wasn't and had to make a quick escape before the lady could trick us into paying. I'm all about that free stuff, thanks.
